Valentines!

I love hearts, pinks and reds--and making Valentine's Day cards!

I stamped the background on watercolor paper using a wine cork and two colors of ink. I then matched the inks on my heart, with the darker color along the edges. I fussy cut the heart and adhered it to the white cardstock with dimensional tape.

The sentiment is stamped with the darker ink color. I used a grey cardstock for base.

Backward Fold Cards

I saw this fold at my local scrapbook store several years ago, and today I made a get well card. The paper is called Flutter from the Walk in the Park collection by Echo Park.

I stamped the butterfly, die cut the wing pieces (Stamps of Life), and added some rhinestones to the body. The edges of the white, olive and small turquoise piece are distressed with Tea Dye distress ink.
The inside sentiment is from Everyday Sayings by Hero Arts. It is stamped on white paper and distressed.

I wanted to make a birthday card using the same fold. I used Sweet Thoughts paper from the Floral collection by Pebbles. I stamped the sentiment, colored the tiny circles with Copic markers, added some rhinestones, and lightly distressed the edges with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

The balloon was stamped with Warm Red chalk ink by Color Box and heat embossed with clear powder.

Tri-fold Cards

Today I made two tri-fold cards. The first one could be used for a Valentine, although I left the panel blank. The butterflies are Isabella and Pippi from Memory Box.
The paper is from the Head Over Heels collection by Bo Bunny.
I made a second card using the star dies from Nestabilities. I left the panel blank on this one as well. Lots of room to write or I can stamp a sentiment for the occasion.
The paper is from Stowaway by Quick Quotes Scrapbook Company.
 And from the top...

Wedding Card

I've seen variations of this card, and I love the elegant look of black and white. The black cardstock base has a white panel, embossed with D'Vine Swirls by Provo Craft. The sentiment is stamped from the Oh Happy Day set by Avery Elle. Love this stamp set!

I tied a know from narrow black and white ribbon and colored some pearls black for the tuxedo. The dress is embossed with Swiss Dots by Provo Craft and has three small pearls.

The inside sentiment is stamped in black ink using the Best Wishes by Hero Arts stamp set.

I made this fun fold card using With Delight paper from the Floral Lane collection by Pebbles. The scalloped circle is a Nestabilities die. The heart is stamped and die cut using a Simon Says Stamp set and heat embossed with clear powder.

The inside sentiment is from So Much to Say by Lawn Fawn. It is also heat embossed with clear powder.

Sympathy Card

I made this sympathy card using blues and browns. The light blue card base is stamped with Hero Arts Flourish stamps using Midnight ink by Color Box. The cream layer was stamped with stamps from the Encouraging Words set by Stampendous. I used Dune ink by Color Box for the stems and Rich Cocoa by Memento for the sentiment. It is layered on medium brown cardstock and then navy blue. I added a blue satin bow.

.

My favorite sentiment for sympathy cards is from Verses. It was stamped using Rich Cocoa.

"Stained Glass"

The inside sentiment is heat embossed with gold powder.

Using Silver Tape

The dark blue card base was embossed with the Cuttlebug birthday folder. The Nashua foil tape was embossed with a Cuttlebug flower. I don't know what the purpose of this tape is, but I got it at the local hardware store. It's very shiny and very sticky--place it once 'cause it ain't moving!

The inside has a simple greeting, heat embossed with silver powder.

Masculine Birthday

I used a beige cardstock for the card base. I added rectangles from my 6x6 pad of Stowaway by Quick Quotes. I love blues and browns for masculine cards, so this paper is perfect. I distressed the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I added a button and some narrow brown rickrack. The stamp is from Cupcakes by Hero Arts.

I stamped a candle and flame from Big Candles by Hero Arts, fussy cut it and adhered it to the inside.

Distress Ink and Water

I used watercolor paper for the background panel. I used some Mustard Seed and then Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. I flicked water from a small paintbrush from various heights to get different sizes.

I cut cardstock with Nestabilities dies for the flower and embossed each piece with Swiss Dots, and added brads.

Got Cork?

Those scraps of leftover contact paper can be used on cards. Here I used some cork. I was able to get good clean cuts with my guillotine cutter. I stamped with black StazOn using my Oh Happy Day stamp set from Avery Elle.

Three brads, some ribbon and patterned paper complete the card.

I wonder what else I can find to repurpose :)

File Folder Card

My pink file folder is decorated with Pink Salt paper from the Soup Staples II collection by Jillibean Soup.

I cut down the gray insert so I could add a thin strip of liquid adhesive to the edges.

The stamps are from TPC Studio, and I inked the edges of the insert and the die cuts on front with Victorian Velvet distress ink. The gray organza bow is a perfect match!

Miss You

I used a blue card base and trimmed three strips of paper from My Girl by American Crafts. The butterfly is Isabella by Memory Box. The stamp is from Lawn Fawn's Much to Say set and embossed with white powder. I added the butterflies' bodies with black Enamel Accents.

This card was made for easy mailing.

Sending Hugs

The card base is magenta cardstock, and the hot air balloon is made from Washi tape. The balloon and clouds were cut with Lawn Fawn's Blue Skies die set. Tiny hearts are falling from the balloon. The whole panel was embossed with Cloudy Sky by Darice.

Get well, miss you, thinking of you. Or just to say hi. This card  is versatile!

Feel Better

I've had a cold the last several days, so I made a "feel better" card. I used a dark blue card base but I wanted the other parts to be bright and cheery. To me, that's yellow and orange. The light yellow background panel is stamped with VersaColor Canary and embossed with clear powder.

I made a small "tissue box" that pops up when you open the card, complete with a tissue.

This would make anyone feel better :)

Red, Kraft & Blue

I like stars and the red, blue and kraft color combination for masculine cards. I ran across this idea recently and adapted it to work with the dies I have. The red stars are embossed with Swiss Dots and adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp (Cupcake Party).

Alcohol Inks

This 5x5 card has a 4x4 background panel made with alcohol inks. I used Tim Holtz' Purple Twilight, Sail Boat Blue, Citrus and Pearl. Once it dried, I stamped Hero Arts' Flourish, cut the pieces into 1" squares and pieced them back randomly.

I added five small brads to the right side. They were lavender and I wanted them darker purple. Sharpie to the rescue!

The stamp is from Inside & Out Sayings by Simon Says Stamp.

Beadazzled Banner

I got this layout idea from Debby Hughes and I wanted to use Scrapbook Adhesives' 3D Foam Pennants. I haven't found much guidance on what works well on this product--even from their own website.

I used Beadazzles (Tutu, Jazz and Electric Slide). I think it worked pretty well, as I like the different textures in this product. The "Congratulations" sentiment is from Avery Elle (Oh Happy Day set) and stamped with Encore metallic teal ink.

I added some baker's twine, ribbon, clouds and clear gems that I colored with a Sharpie.

Dinosaur Tracks

I needed a card for my younger grandson, and he loves dinosaurs.

I brayered the Chevron folder with VersaMark to give it the two tone look. I cut banners from the Dino-Mite paper pad from Bazzill, added twine and a button.

I drew dash lines with my white gel pen to complete this quick card.

A Note for You

I'm using embossing folders for background panels the next few days. The paw prints were stamped on the background and then embossed with Basketweave by Darice on Core'dinations cardstock. I used the postage die and postage2stamp from The Stamps of Life.

A big brown button and baker's twine complete the card.
