4" Cube

A cube made from chipboard and covered with cardstock. The sides are fastened together with ribbon and glued to a 4" square on the bottom. I'm using it to hold my markers. It would also hold about a dozen cookies or lots of candy.

I decorated two sides with the fence and owl.

And two sides with a bat.

Inspiration from a project done by Taylor VanBruggen.

Tri-fold Shutter Card

This card always gets a surprised gasp from the recipient! And the best part is that it's easier than it looks. A few cuts and folds.

I decorated it with paper from American Crafts My Girl collection. I seem to be using that pad often. It has small patterns and beautiful colors. Some sheer ribbon, Nestabilities ovals and a little coloring on a candle stamp complete the front.

The wide middle panel has plenty of room to write a message.

An interesting top view. I love how the card stands up.

Gift Card Holder

A quick project! I used Bo Bunny paper and some teal ribbon. The teal cardstock is layered over some glitter paper.

The Velcro closure opens up to reveal a perfect spot for a gift card. The opening was made using Stampin Up's Word Window punch.

Washi Tape Hearts

I love the bright turquoise panel on this card! I used VersaMark and a stamp from the Square Sayings set by Simon Says Stamp to create the background. I put three different Washi tape designs on cardstock and then die cut them with my classic hearts from Nestabilities. The polka dot tape was so wide on the two smaller hearts, so I cut it down the middle. Each heart is on a foam dot. The "Thinking of You" is from Greetings by TPC Studio.

Happy Birthday

Some pattern paper and some polka dot paper. Back into my little pink suitcase from Queen & Co. for the green Pearl Blossoms, and some white satin ribbon. I used the Wood Grain embossing folder by Darice, and lightly distressed the salmon-colored paper.

Animal Print

Today's card was made using light brown and lime green cardstock. I added some alligator print from Bo Bunny's Zoology Collection. The stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. I added three pearls and colored them with Copic (G99) marker.

The envelope was made using DCWV's Safari Chic. It's from the 8x8 pad, which is perfect--the beginning size of my A2 envelope. I like the how the alligator on the flap goes with the print on the card.

Card for Football Fan

This isn't an obvious "football" card. However, the 49er fan I made it for will recognize the colors. I used a deep red for the card and 3/8" strips of metallic gold cardstock for the stripes. I thought the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder by Cuttlebug mimicked a football. I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink along the edges of the oval and label.

I put a strip of Queen & Co. football washi tape down the left side of the envelope.

Basketweave Card

This card uses Basic Grey Oxford paper. Very simple concept...but. Keeping the strips running straight and evenly spaced was the most difficult part. This is the perfect use for my Layer Perfect (Cheetah Crafts). I lightly distressed the edges of the card base, brown panel and the envelope with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I made a template for an envelope liner using my Envelope Punch Board. This liner is a third paper from the Oxford  collection.

Lots of Layers

This card has five Nestabilities layers from Pink Paislee's Cottage Farms Collection. I love this paper -- the corals, oranges, pinks and grays.

The matching envelope today has pattern paper on the flap only. It gives you a sneak peek to what's inside.

Glitter & Birthdays

Glitter and birthdays...they just go together :)

The Elizabeth Craft sticker, sticky paper and glitter. A little Copic color and the Happy Birthday embossing folder from Cuttlebug. Voila!

The matching envelope today is a shade lighter than the card base and the flap was embossed to match the card.

5x7 Pinwheel Card

One of the advantages of making my own envelopes is that I can have almost any size and any paper. Today I started with a 12x12 and I wanted to make a large envelope and use the rest on the card in some way.

I knew this paper would make a great envelope. First, let me suggest that you make the envelope and then customize your card size to the actual envelope size. I learned that the hard way.

I remembered the little goody suitcase I got from the Queen & Co. trunk show. It had green Stylish Stix and pink and green pinwheels. I added some Copic RV13 to one of the Stix for my pink pinwheel, and I ran them through my Cuttlebug to flatten them. The cute border on the background paper was also made with the Envelope Punch Board.

This is a large card, so I added some paper inside. It's light enough you can write over it, but it also forms a natural barrier if you want to write less. And I had one small piece of paper left, so I used almost the entire 12x12 with very little waste.

Ribbon Scraps

I looked at my jar of scrap ribbon today and decided to use some of it. I love ribbon--I put it on many of my cards.

I selected blues and purples and thought the yellow paper contrasted nicely. I cut the rectangles with my Nestabilities. The tag was made with Nestabilities Labels 4 and the stamp is from TPC Studio Greetings.

Very colorful card and the ribbon adds some nice texture.

Laughter & Smiles

When I have cardstock I love, I try to use every little piece of it. This style allows you to use those little strips you trim off a 6x6 pad. The paper is Stars & Stripes from Doodlebug Design. I cut the ovals with Nestabilities and stamped on the vellum with Hero Arts You & Me stamp set.

Special Thanks

A very simple card today with elegant results! Layers of Bo Bunny Wild Berry Flourish cardstock and a stamp from the Thank You Words set from Inkadinkado. No brads or ribbon--I wanted to keep it very clean and highlight the paper.

Fall Card using a Tag

I love using purple and orange together.

The tag was cut using Hero Arts Large Tag die. The leaves are stamped with Stampendous Fall Foliage and embossed with clear powder. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Orange Marmalade, Fried Brick and Tea Dye on the tag. I put Dusty Concord on my Victoria Cuttlebug folder and embossed white cardstock. The leaf I tucked behind the tag is a thin lightweight tin from a company that is out of business. You could use any leaf or foliage, die cut, punch, etc.
